Avril Lavigne, a fellow Lymie, has released some good news! She'll release a new album in 2017, a HUGE milestone after her recovery from Lyme. She's also busy contributing to her Avril Lavigne Foundation, which gives back to charities for youth living with a serious illness or disability.
Avril Lavigne shared on Instagram,
"Hi Everyone!! I wanted to first thank my fans for your patience & support during my time away throughout my battle with Lyme Disease over the past 2 years. It hasn't just been a hard battle but it's also been enlightening and will reflect in my new music, artistry, life, and personally. I will always continue to make it a priority to fight and raise awareness about Lyme Disease with the Avril Lavigne foundation. I'm really happy to announce that I am now working on new music and I will be releasing a new album in 2017. I can't wait to open up and share my heart with you! I'm excited for you guys to hear the new songs. It's going to be an amazing 2017!"
According to L&S, "She previously opened up at length about her debilitating illness in June 2015, calling it the 'Worst time of my life. I literally became bedridden [in October 2014],' she said at the time, adding that she had trouble getting a proper diagnosis for her disease. 'They would pull up their computer and be like, ‘Chronic fatigue syndrome.’ Or, ‘Why don’t you try to get out of bed, Avril, and just go play the piano?’ It’s like, ‘Are you depressed?’"
Let's raise a glass (of a green smoothie, water, juice, champagne, whatever you prefer) to this brave lady.
